I am an exchange student leaving Madison in late December.
I have a single room in a two bedroom apt that also has its private kitchen and bath. The apartment complex is called the Highlander (http://www.sba-highlanderhouse.com)
I am looking for someone to takeover my lease by December.
It has a great location; right between Langdon and State Streets; very close to UW and downtown campuses. I can literally wake up 10 mins before the class and still make it there in time. :) I spent approximately 300 dollars for kitchen appliances, iron, clocks, blankets etc. and I intend to leave them all to the sublessee.
The apartment has a nice view of Lake Mendota, only the top floor sees the lake in the complex. :)
The rent is fairly reasonable considering the location and the extras.
Also bear in mind that Steve Brown Apartments do not make semester leases, so this is the only option there is to rent a room from SBA for 5 months only.
I have talked the issue with the complex, I will pass on the lease to the sublessee and the apartment will be his/hers starting Jan 1st until may 30th.
Heat and electricity is included to the rent.
